 TURBIDITY NOTIFICATION PROGRAM

Water Supply Association Proposes Changes to IHA Turbidity Program

The IHA Turbidity Notification Program implemented in the spring of 2006 met with wide-spread opposition from a broad range of water suppliers throughout the region. At the invitation of IHA for a review of the program,
WSA directors have provided the health authority with a four point proposal for program improvement.

WSA director's feel this proposal will serve to provide greater water risk assessment capability, a more effective public notification method and provide the general public with a greater understanding of drinking water supply issues.  In short, we believe the program will provide a higher level of public health protection.
